In college, my friend and I had a similar problem. From art school experience, this is what will work best. Leg wax isn't like regular wax. Leg wax is sticky and doesn't work well when cold, so you have to get it hot in the microwave or heat it in hot water. Take your hair-dryer or iron(iron set on medium) with a couple of paper towels over the wax. the heat will melt the wax and the paper will absorb the stuff. If the paint peels, carefully repaint the spot, not the whole wall. Cover the scent of the new paint by burning an incense stick about 6 inches away and 1 foot down from the wall.

Most wax these days is water soluble so you can remove it with warm soapy water and cloth, however if this doesn't work try using an alcohol based substance such as surgical spirit... works in the industry

Baby wipes are good for getting it off but the wipe may leave a mark on your wall if it is painted.

Use a HOT flannel or a paint scraper. You need to heat it up to soften it first.
