One sometimes hears people say that the South didn't win the Civil War, it just seems that way. From 1865 to 1877, Reconstruction went forward and Federal troops occupied Southern states. As a result of a close presidential election that went to the House of Representatives for settlement, a bargain was struck in which Federal troops were withdrawn in return for Southern votes in the House for one candidate. From then on, rights of black people were suppressed. So one can say that black people didn't quite escape from slavery. And Southern states managed their internal affairs their own way.
One also hears talk that considering the modern-day prosperity of Germany, Japan, and Italy, it's not clear who won World War II.

Yes, the South won the American Civil War. It's really a myth that the North won. You see, the actual legal name of the country is the Confederated States of America but most people call it the United States to hide the fact that the South won.
The Confederated States slowly did away with slavery -- even though the South wanted to keep it because slavery just could not survive into the 20th century.
And you're right, the so-called Rebel Flag is the actual flag of the country. Most people display the Stars & Stripes so they won't be made fun of.
If you look closely at our money, it says Confederated States of America in tiny type at the bottom right of all paper currency.

The North won the Civil War. It's unlikely that the South would have won the Civil War because most industry, including producing ammunition, guns, shoes and uniforms, etc., was in the North. The South was a highly agricultural region which did not have much industry, therefore, the South began to run out of supplies toward the end of the war and was starving. The Confederate Army would not have been able to sustain fighting against the North for much longer than it did (1865).

Honorknight14701, it is great that you want to “show people what Christianity is really about” however, don’t you think that such should begin on a foundation of facts.”
Stating that the South (more correctly the Confederacy) won what has commonly been referred to as the Civil War is (I hope) for affect. Clearly the federal government of the Union won that war, which in truth was not a civil war but a military invasion into the sovereign country of the Confederate States of America. To have a civil war, the rebelling side must attack the government of the country, that didn’t happen.
Nor did the Confederacy start this war. Lincoln knew that he couldn’t keep the forts in Charleston Harbor. No less than his head of the military, General Winfield Scott, told him that to have a chance to keep them it would take a minimum of 20,000 soldiers. This was also reported to him by his commanding soldier in Charleston Harbor. Lincoln was also informed (well in advance) by representatives of South Carolina that attempting to supply Fort Sumter would be considered an act of war. Lincoln, knowing he couldn’t protect the forts, sent a supply ship. This put South Carolina in the position of having to fire on this ship. This was actually the aggressive beginning of the war.
Subsequently, The Union Commander let South Carolina know that he was abandoning Fort Sumter and began moving out of it. When he had removed all civilians and family he changed directions and place all military men in it in an attempt to force Union forces to be sent. South Carolina had no choice but to open fire.
Your understanding of slavery is somewhat lacking. Slavery, including importation of slaves, was legal in the Union Territory until the 13th Amendment of 1865 (yes, some Union States had passed anti-slave laws but in the Constitution it was still legal). In the Confederate Constitution, importation of slaves was made illegal on its ratification. In addition, slavery was on the way out. Slave societies can never compete with free societies and innovation would son eliminate the need for large work crews.
During the war The Confederate military primarily fought Northern troops and such was the official policy of the Confederate Government. Not so with the Union. President Lincoln condoned Sherman’s March to the sea with the express intent of attacking the civilian populace to destroy the culture. Old men, woman, children were attack with some taken North never to return.
The point here isn’t to singularly blame the Union, there is certainly more than enough blame to go around, rather, it is to make the point that gathering facts instead of using old bromides is far better, it’s the Christian thing to do..

Look General Lee surrender to General Ulysses Grant (Who became president later) at Appomatex (Don't know if I spelt that right). I am from Texas and the South did not win that war. But your last part of your question. We don't know for sure if the south still would have had slavery you can only hope that if the south won then slavery would somehow come to an end through the development of our civilization but hey who knows. Frankly, I am glad we don't have slavery. I was in the military, I fought for and believe in the freedom of all. I hope this answered your question.

If things do not change then I can see the people rising up against this government just as the founders predicted. Whether it comes via a spark or an escalating intensity of boiling rage at the idiots in power is to be determined but change is coming. And not the kind the current socialists have pursued.

If you look at electoral maps of the 2000 and 2004 elections, you might notice it was the former Confederate States of America that elected Texas Governor George W. Bush to the Presidency. Does that mean the CSA finally took control a century and a half later???

Listen to RMF. In all practicality the Blacks would have been released eventually probably by the 1880s. The reason being it would not have been cost efficient. The Industrial age would have turned it around for the Blacks. Unfortunately'.,when they released in droves no preparation was given them. Without education and some foundation the White man was still doing it to the Blacks. For now without basic lifetools he was forced to work cheaply and therefor they weren't far above there former status in life.
