TFT monitors are better for eyes because they doesnot reflect bright lights and less sharper image. But on the other hand the looks just dull as compared to flat LCD monitors.

TFT is 'true flat technology' I THINK.Eitehr way it does not matter what it means. As for retailers, a TFT is a super thin screen, usually an LCD screen. Thesse are also known as Flat panel screens.
In retail lingo, a flat screen is a regular tube-style CRT screen that has a flat piece of glass on the front as opposed to one that is curved. This gives a better picture.

TFT LCDs is a variant of Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) which use Thin-Film Transistor (TFT) technology to improve their image quality. TFT LCDs are one type of active matrix LCD, though this is usually synonymous with them. They are used in both flat panel displays and projectors. In computing, TFT monitors are rapidly displacing competing CRT technology, and are commonly available in sizes from 12 to 30 inches. As of 2006, they have also made inroads on the television market.
TFT is an LCD, and LCD is a flat panel. :)

they are the same thing, and they are totally different. a flat screen CRT(cathode ray tube) is simply that a flat(no curve) screen mo niter a TFT mo niter is a flat panel(its so thin) but people frequently get so confused that they have become one and the same

it is the same. tft is the name of its technology, that's it. when you want to buy a flat screen monitor, you say..'' iam buying a tft next week,.....''
