The movie in question I have only seen the opening scene. The scene is there are a couple of guys in a helicopter going over a town and everybody is dead. Thsi really peaked my interest and I am really curious if anyone can tell me the name. Thank you!

You're thinking of the "Omega Man" (1972). The opening scene showed Bacteriologist Charlton Heston and another male scientist flying over Los Angeles in a helicopter. They were trying to approximate the number of dead people lying in the streets. The dead were victims of a plague caused by germ warfare. The "Andromeda Strain" opened in a laboratory. The helicopter scene which followed featured more than a few people flying over a town. They weren't all guys. One of them was a woman played by Kate Reid.

The only one I could think of was the 'original' Dawn Of The Dead. However, the ONLY thing I CAN remember from 'The Adromina Strain' IS the memory of a helicopter flying over... lol So I'm betting on that one! ;-)

My best guess would be "The Andromeda Strain" by Michael Crighton. The movie was in 1971. I read the book, but didn't see the movie. It's a super book.
