I have a very close relative that has been accused at least 4 times of the same type of crime by 4 different people. None of his accusers have ever met each other, and each accusation happened in a different city, years apart.

I feel guilty for assuming that this relative must be guilty because he has never been convicted and found legally guilty. But it seems impossible for him to be innocent.

What do you think? Is it possible that he can be innocent with so many of the same type of accusations by people who have never met each other? Am I overreacting by assuming that he is guilty?

I look at this way. If one person says you're a jerk, then it was probably just that person. If several people think you're a jerk, it's probably you.

Being convicted or found legally guilty has nothing to do with the person, just the evidence. If several different people make the same accusation, it's more likely to be true than not. While I commend you for hesitating to condemn your relative, be careful you aren't putting your head in the sand.

Not very likely... Especially if the "alleged victims" don't know each other...
