Can't get my disk drive to open. I have used a paper clip in the manual release, but it doesn't work.

How do I remove the disk faceplate. How do I remove the disk drive to get inside?

Unless you are a tech, don't. You could destroy the drive, if you are not careful.

If the drive is not functioning you'll probably do more damage trying to repair it. Try opening the computer case and disconnecting the data and power cable. Reconnect and turn the power back on.

See if that works.

your better off opening the system up unscrewing it from its bay and then once drive is out try forcing it. but to be honest there so cheap to buy i would buy a new one.
