To clear your internet history:
If you are using Internet Explorer: click Tools >> Internet Options >> and click each of the following buttons: "clear history" and "clear temporary files" and there is one other clear button, but I can't remember what it is called. On the newest version of Internet Explorer do this: click Tools >> Internet Options >> under Browsing History click delete and then click "Delete All" on the screen that pops up.

These people are right, but if you still want to be more sure, some antivirus programs, such as McAcce, have Shredders. With this Shredder you can definitely delete all you web history with total security that nothing has been left in other applications in your computer.

You can never completely rid all online history from your computer. Someone who has expertise in finding such information in your computer will be able to find it. The only surefire way I know of to be sure your record of sites visited and such is to physically destroy your hard drive.

In Explorer, you go to Tools -> Internet Options. You delete browsing address, cookies and temporary internet addresses separately.
