I see so many people who seem to be so glad to see Sadam hung, when he has not did one thing to them and we really don't know for sure he did the things he is accused of, some say the kurds were gassed by the Iranians??? accidentally, do we know for sure that is not the way it happened? since we accuse other people of crimes and many times the evidence is false, don't you think that will make us as guilty as Sadam, and if so should we be hung also

If I were in law enforcement , after reading some of these answers , I would be taking names as I would want to know where you were should some unexplained murders happened in my jurisdiction, it is obvious some of you have the capicity, only lacking the nerve or opertunity,

John mira, I have seen enough killing and death while serving my country, and ihave never seen a real man who wanted to see some one killed nor to kill some one, even tho they all would to defend our country , I feel you are no better than Sadam, how much would you pay to see some one killed ???? I doubt you have the nerve,

Public-sanctioned murder is never justified. Executions are politicians way of playing to the mob. In other words, if you give them a little blood then they love you (for a while at least), which is what happened in Iraq today among the Shi'ite majority.

All of the evidence I have seen on the Kurds gassing has pointed directly to Saddam. You could also look at the MANY things he has done while president of Iraq. Look at the video of him taking office in the parliament room. He called people out one by one that were never seen again, including his brother-in-law. There are also many videos of his sons torturing and killing people on the streets. As for the death penalty for him, I for one think it was just. As with everything the media portrays, we will no more in the future as information is released. May he rot in ........

By rushing to execute Sadaam, the Iraqi government has actually denied justice to many. The crimes for which he was hanged involved killing about 150 people, horrible yes, but he will not even have to answer for genocide of the Kurds. Their story will not be told in a legal setting. It will be swept under the rug.
You will hear little about it now that Sadaam is dead.

By killing the killer you cannot get the victim's life back. So killing has no sense. I am not sure about serial killers because they kill for pleasure they do it deliberately knowing that they are doing evil.
But in case with political leaders it is hard to not cross the line when to kill and when not. All president kill ppl in one way or another. Sometimes they kill because they should save their countries or protect power. So I am against the death penalty for the presidents. Saddam was one of them
There were many who killed Kurds. Many to avoid prosecution pointed Saddam that he ordered them to do so. THat is lie supported by the USA government. Presidents are not serial killers how some want them present to us. Presidents defend their powers and sometimes they do that in a harsh way. Those who killed and tortured Kurds by their own hands where they are now? All of them are free!!!!

If you recall (and there's actually a photo of) Rumsfeld and Saddam shaking hands...We employed his aid in keeping the Iranians in check, which Saddam did do..BUT just like training a pit bull to be a good dog they'll still turn on you in a second! Not to worry about Saddam, he's probably enjoying a hot toddy with Adolph as we speak!

I think capitol punishment should be implemented more in the United States too.
I believe if you are a raper of children you should be gone.
I believe if you are a serial killer you should be gone.
I believe if you decide to rob a bank or gas station or whatever and you take a life or many lives in that process you should be gone.
How long can our country keep filling up prisons? Many people who are hard core criminals who commit these kinds of crimes are not rehabilitational. It holds no social relevance to keep them alive. In fact it would set a precedence to future criminals that if you are willing to commit these crimes you will pay the ultimate price for it. Make your choice.
I for one am tired of imprisoning child molesters and rapists only to have them released back into society to reoffend.
Personally I would gladly sit in prison, if that is what society says I should do, if someone where to kidnap or rape my child. Once I found out who the guilty party was I would kill them without hesitation or question. Regardless of who the guilty party is. If a jury of my peers say that I should go to jail then so be it.
Capitol punishment is the ultimate penalty. It should be implemented more. Time will tell. Imprisonment is becoming too costly to our society.
As to leaders of countries who commit acts of crime against it's own citizens? When they are brought to justice and tried for their crimes and found guilty, appealed and still found guilty.....HEY...
Isn't that just what happened??????

I am a conservative and in MOST cases I am against the death penalty. I am FOR harsher prison sentencing and I am also for Truth in sentencing (if you are sentenced to LIFE - it means you NEVER GET OUT)
But in the case of Saddam. Justice was served and he deserved the punishment he received.
