You really need to get an agent. They are expensive but they are worth the price. They have an "inside" to all castings. If you get a reputable one, just having their name representing you will get you in the door. Be active in your school drama club - that is the best exposure and it will show that you are hard working. Good Luck!

Good for you! You sound like someone with a good idea of what you want to do. Being in the 11th grade, you might want to consider what sort of education you'll pursue in University. There are a number of schools with very good acting programs. Juilliard, Carnegie-Mellon and many others. Begin to do some research on those with the help of your counsellors in school. In these schools you will polish your skills as a performer and learn a great deal about the business of acting. For the moment, you might want to investigate The Drama Book Store, in New York for such books as "How To Be A Working Actor," and similar titles. Good luck!

just keep working hard. You seem so passionate about this and if you are willing to suceed you can do it.
I recommend finishing Highschool and continue to do what you are doing... make more experience for yourself. When you are ready for college you can take an acting course... in between then and now audition for shows, volunteer, help direct or work backstage...
if you get involved with the stage more and more and people will begin to notice how commited you are. You might be able to be offered a few scholarships.
Hope I helped... also please understand 90% of actors are out of work.... so make sure you have a backup plan. Don't get discouraged if people turn you down... try, try again.

An agent is ideal. Unless you know some people in the business already (like really well), you need to find an agent. Tips:
Do not settle for the first agent you find. Check their credentials and then make a decision.
Do not give them money up front. If they get you a job, then give them a percentage of your earnings. But never give them money first.
I've been performing for about 15 years now. I managed to do some small things without an agent (commercials, citywide shows) but after I got one I was able to land some recording here and there for studio cast recordings of some off-Broadway shows.
Best of luck!

Invest in some decent headshots, write a resume of all the shows you have done, performing glasses you have taken, write a cover letter and make an appt with Talent Agencies in your area. If they want you to give them money LEAVE they are not a legit agency. Good luck!

You are going to have to start at ground -3. First start acting, singing and dancing classes in the area. You will will want to not right away jump in. you want to stun them when they first meet you them ask you teacher when she/he thinks you are ready. Start with community theater and open casting calls. Because you want to have something on your resume. you will also need to get a head shot. then post your self on the Internet under casting websites like actors access. How old are you? It gets harder in your teen/preteen years because there are so many and not many parts(i know because my sis is in her teen years and it is getting really getting hard for her even thought she has been acting sense she was 6 years old). make sure you research your coaches before you pick them! Good luck!!!!!!!!!!! email me if you need some support.

Ok first thing is TRAINING !!! producers ,casting directors, agents, managers won't even take one look at your headshot and resume if you have no training!
Go to www.proscout.com audition for them over and over again tell they accept you !! Remember it takes FOREVER to get into this industry it took me 8 months to get a manager an agent and book a skechers commercial .
Just NEVER GIVE UP !!!
Ok when you audition for proscout thiere looking for people with character they love people with flaws - I kno it sounds weird but sooo true !!!!!! MArc said that people with flaws will get more jobs because its a character they create
and when you audtion be confident !!!!!!!
Have you intertainment idustry work permitt since you still in school
ITS A GREAT TIME TO AUDITION NOW !!! Its PILOT SEASON (the time where theres ALOT of audtions and castings for upcomming shows and movies for the summer and fall!)
JUST TRAIN TRAIN TRAIN CONFIDENCE CONFIDENCE DON'T show that your nervouse at the open call When they ask your name they want to see a person that dosn't mumble their name and smiles ok good luck !!!
and never give up as much questions that I answered liked this I have a feeling that YOUR gonna make it I donno why though lol

First, you might want to move to New York City and see what they have, possibly get an agent and then if the city doesn't help, move to LA where all the action is. My sister tried out for an extra in a movie, and she loved it, but her friend got the part instead.. but he said it was awesome.. he got an angent and is on his way to stardom. Dont let any opprotunity go bye without you trying.
