Does the written form enable interpretation into personalities, or;
is this merely gloss ?

Gloss, as in undeterminable, due to an insufficient body of information to form an informed opinion, devoid of other senses (speech, body gestures) and ingrained values (perceived social disposition) to form an opinion through interpretation.

Thank you all for your contributions.

Generally two camps here who believe a degree of interpretation is possible:

Greater degree of interpretation possible, given appropriate background knowledge deemed relevant in making an assessment.
- Jon, jenny.., lizzi.., gldjn.., JJ...

Lesser degree of interpretation due to extraneous facts and circumstances not present to supplement style of writting. (body language, etc.)
- tarza.., parad.., Rich.., Charl...

I just answered one of your similar posts. I appreciate the way you are laying out the various questions.
Sadly, there are a lot of people, both in real life that never get the facts, question their own values and positions, and are never honest with themselves or others.
In absence of the body language and speech patterns it is more difficult, I think. But it can be done to a point. One can never know for certain, however, even in person.

Firstly you can tell whether the person has read your question and given it some thought. Secondly, that they have made the effort to provide you some information from their own knowledge or another source indicates that they have some interest in the topic. Thirdly how they express themselves, using correct grammar, punctuation etc.gives you some indication of their level of education and or intellect. The rest will remain a mystery as it is meant to. One thing is plain, a moronic answer is usually from a moron.

The way a person expresses himself or herself on YA generally denotes (1) the level of intelligence (2) the desire to be helpful and (3) what kind of individual they are. I've seen such incredibly stupid questions and answers on here, that it's appalling. There are some sincere questions and very good answers also, but they are few and far between, unfortunately

Not, entirely, but some, if I do the effort, although for sure you can accomplish better, by personal contact I mean with this, Verbal communication, in which the presence of other individual, can be judge a/o justified a lot easier and without the waste of time, and space, I mean with this direct person to person conversation. which s part of Socrates theory as to how, achieved a better world, trough the achievement of better communication. .

It's too easy to pretend you are someone else in this medium, so it's not a good guide.

Out of all your friends, can you honestly say that you know exactly what they would do in a crisis? It's impossible to judge people who you know, let alone those on a chat room..
