They probably kiss in public for the same reason that straight couples do. Or homosexual males. They're showing affection. Some people like public displays of affection. I don't, but some people do. Sexual preference doesn't have anything to do with it.

are you ok with a man and woman kissing in front of your children? I would think it's the same deal, people kiss in public sometimes. I think every couple should have respect, and that means, every couple should have respect for the people around them, there should be no "making out" whether it be a man and woman, or woman and woman, or man and man if there are kids about. If lesbians are kissing in front of my children, ( and who knows if they are straight or not? until they grow up) then I might be a little appalled, thinking, just get to a private place, ladies! but I would think the same of any couple kissing in front of my children. and actually, to see lesbians kissing would be ok for me, because I think it would be a good opportunity for my children to see that there are more types of couples in this world than just mom and dad.

They kiss at the beach because they want to. Would it bother you if a male and a female kissed in public? They arent trying to make any impression, they are just acting like a romantic couple.

Lesbians probably kiss in public for the same reason that heterosexual people kiss in public. They are in a relationship with each other or just feel like kissing. Just because they are lesbians doesn't mean they are trying to prove something to anyone.

Just taking a wild guess here, but it could be that they are attracted to each other and enjoy contact....pretty much the same as anyone else?????
And a kiss would send a signal to the sharks (guys on the prowl) that they aren't particularly interested so no one wastes their time (male or female).
And, it probably gives the middle aged married guys a bit of a thrill too! (probably ticks off their wives though...) LOL

my partner and I usually don't kiss each other in "public" because of bigotry like yours. I have no problem with guys being around. I have lots of male friends. I'm just not attracted to them. try looking around at all the straight people who "make out" in public! for crying out loud, some of them need a hose turned on them. I see more steamy, inappropriate displays of "affection" in public by straight people more than anything else.

Sweetheart--All your questions have been very homophobic! It is almost like you are trying to prove that being gay is wrong in the asking of these questions. My advice--please go talk to some gay people--meet them, ask them questions--touch them, they don't bite. And get your answers to these questions. I can't tell if you have an opinion on gay issues or if you are really searching. But I will ask you one thing--If you believe (unsure but guessing you do) that being gay is a choice, why would anyone choose it? There are gay people who get rejected from their family, thrown out of their house (40% of runaway teens are LGBT) , made fun of by society, treated like a second-class citizen and they get told that they are sinners! Think about it!

Here's a whacky notion, maybe they're tired of having to hide their love for eachother from people like you. They're showing affection just like any other straight couple. If you saw a straight couple on the beach having sex you would probably bearly notice it but if there was a gay couple only kissing you would probably die of disgust.

I haven't noticed any more lesbians making out in public than male/male and male/female couples. Sure you aren't just noticing them more because you are used to the other, or perhaps confusing Hollywood with reality?
