is it true that the 2nd movie went over the top with special effects?

well i thought that Pirates 1 was better because jack sparrow was alot more open to communication and not fleeing off people who were trying to help you like will and elizabeth.

I like Pirates 2 a whole lot better! If you saw Pirates 2 then you should know what the effects look like and if they went over the top.

I liked Pirates of the Caribbean 1 better, although the special affects in 2 were pretty cool.

Pirates a million, easily. I purely observed Pirates 2, and replaced into somewhat disenchanted. It did not have that 'piratey' sense to it, it did not appear like Pirates of the Carribbean to me. not adequate humor, Jack wasn't appearing like himself, and it replaced into gory and grotesque. Pirates a million is a lot greater advantageous, yet i will in all probability wait until Pirates 3 comes out on DVD in the previous seeing it.

The first was better. That's not to say that the second is bad; it's fairly good. But in comparison, it doesn't hold a candle to the first, mainly in terms of pacing (the second seems to drag a bit in places and is a tad too long), reliance on special effects (yes, they were spectacular- but don't forget there needs to be a good story, too!), and especially in the ending (I *hate* movies that don't end clearly; I don't care if we all know there will be a #3- you don't leave us hanging like that!).
Still, they were both good. Let's hope the third strikes a middle ground between them.

well, in my opinion, I like pirates 1. the second was way too boring! It just seemed like it was a really long movie that dragged on but that is just my opinion. The effects were great though. I give it a 3/5. Not bad but wouldnt recommend.

I'm not sure what kind of movies your into, but one of my favorite movies was Pirates 2. Pirates 1 is good if you like a good ole traditional pirate movie, though. I loved 2.

I liked both but Pirates 2 was much better. At the end I was like "Wow. I can't believe that!" It definitely wasn't what I expected.
