I know it was him because the people who had him did not want to see him escape and get back into power, which had a good 50/50 chance of happening.
What with us leaving, one of his cohort's having easily escaped last week and all those loyalists wanting to come back into power, even those in the Iraqi government who don't like the death penalty couldn't let him live any longer.

I am sure it was him. and even if it wasn't they would not get very far with letting him go. Besides there is no way they want him back on the streets killing there families.
