Women who are healthy and clean have very little odour and it isn't unpleasant. If she smells unclean then her hygiene is the issue. If she smells fishy she may have an infection.
I don't really have an opinion as to whether you should be dating an older woman. If you are happy together and want the same things out of the relationship, I see no problem.
But I can't see that the sex would be very good if you can't stand the smell of her. Have her see her gynecologist.

She's not too old for you if you guys are happy with each other. The bad smell thing is not about age. Some women have a naturally stronger scent. If it's bad, though, then she might have an infection. Those things can smell nasty. She may also be bad at hygiene. I do not envy you this problem, because bringing up any sort of BO is never fun. Try the "hey baby let's shower together because it's sexy" trick. If she's still not smelling right after making sure she's good and clean, then you have to let her know. If she does have an infection, she's gotta go to the doctor, because letting it go can cause major problems.

It's not her age...any woman can have this.
It's one of 2 things:
Poor Hygeine or Vaginal Infection
You need to discretely do something about this...suggest some foreplay in the shower, cleansing her privates and stimulating them at the same time...
Once it's time to "bed" after the shower, if you still notice the odor, then she may have a yeast infection she does not realize...and you may suggest to her that your doctor told you you had one (whether you did or not) and suggest she may want to go to the doctor because they are contagious (which IS true).
Difficult situation, because women are SO self conscious about stuff like this.

odor has nothing to do with age, Vaginal odor is typically from inflammation of the vaginal area. Inflammation of the vaginal area is often a result of infection in or around the vagina.
Causes of Vaginal Odor:
Bacterial Vaginosis
Chlamydia In Women
Genital Herpes In Women
Gonorrhea In Women
Sexually Transmitted Diseases in Women (STDs)
Vaginitis
Yeast Infection
HINT: maybe its time for her to visit her OB/GYN, you got a right to know if she has some sort of infection!
