This discredited administration wanted Saddam out of the way before the end of 2006 and chose the start of Eid. Another insult to the faith of Islam. Calm before the Storm.....

It's like hanging Bush or Blair on Christmas day.

As a Muslim, I would just like to say that the way the trial and execution went down, it was an insult to all Muslims and Arabs... It was just a big slap to All Muslims and Arabs... They could have waited a couple of days till Eid was over. What a way to commemorate the blessed month.
Doesn’t countries like the US and UK complain about countries like Saudi Arabia where execution is carried out? So, why now approve and condone Saddam’s
Isn’t ‘capital punishment’ against the Western world’s principles? Against Human Rights? Doesn’t America promise democracy to Iraq and at the same time backs a ‘puppet’ government that approves execution? Are we seeing the US’s double standards again?
Whatever Saddam did or did not do, i think what is going on now– all the killings, rape, torture, and the crazy civil war is far worse and that stability, even if under a tyrant, is much better, but i guess it is too late to bring back Saddam Hussein..
Saddam may have been a dictator, killing innocent people, but one shouldn’t not but one shouldn’t not follow his lead, we shouldn’t be as cruel as he is. Executing him on such an auspicious day is not right, nor is it right to dance on the street rejoicing his death. We should instead look at it in a different way, a reminder to all of us that God will punish us, no matter how powerful or powerless we are. We should not stoop so low.
The trial and the way the execution was performed was an insult to all Iraqis and Arabs.

Saddam was a secular leader of a secular nation, he clamped down hard , his baath party was strictly secular. Even though the population was mainly Muslim they were severely curtailed in their religious observances and practices
Remember when Bin laden was fighting with (instead of against) us, he offered to take out Saddam for that reason.
Saddam only got religion and started waving the Koran around at his trail, looking for sympathy from religious groups. (typical politician)
Saddam was an enemy of Islam and an EID execution is a gift to Muslims everywhere.
And who said Bush ain't a nice guy.

Saddam was a thug before he was mock trialled and executed by the Americans( yes the Americans) .Now he is a hero.He will be remembered as the man who dared to challenge America just like Spartacus challenged the Roman Empire.

No, NOT on Christmas day. That was the point of dooing it before dawn.

Do you think it would have been better to allow him to spread his propaganda from court & stay on Death Row for 10 - 15 years as convicted killers do in this country? Now that he is dead, the world can begin to get past Saddam on to other matters.

Y E S, This has nothing to do with Eid and this administration had nothing to do with the execution of
Saddam Hussein. The Iraqi government wanted him executed and did not ask the US Government about
when to hang this killer. This was NOT an insult to Islam.

I totally agree with you... It's EXACTLY like hanging Bush or Blair on Chritmas Day!!

It's sure is an insult for the muslims...Could'nt they pick another day???

Another thing...I am also against death penalties. God...is the only judge!!!

May God forgive him and US!!!

It has been documented that they (the Iraqis) chose this time for the execution because most of the Country will stay at home and off the streets. Personally I think they should have hung him on the 11th. Does that date remind you of anything??

It was done to maximize the continued hate and resentment of Americans.
By choosing this date Bush can once again inflame hatred and keep his money making "war on terror" going.
