I am talking about the actual concept of god by definition and research with encyclopedias and not a specific religious teaching.

To make the free will and choice argument short…they all have limitations in free will and choices in relations to being human. There are times I was to have the freedom to chose Krystal’s to eat at, however, I live in Vegas where there is no Krystal’s unless I want to travel hundreds of miles to find one, thus my freedom to chose is limited.

I made a reference to the encyclopedia because technically it’s the closest thing that is written about god with an unbiased opinion in mind.

Your reasoning takes us to atheism. I am an atheist. So, your question is only there to create new atheists like me.

I don't know if omniscience means instant awareness of all things. As far as free will is concerned, in a biblical sense, it must have existed in heaven at the time Lucifer rebelled. What was God's plan and purpose prior to this rebellion? What if the rebellion did not take place? Would Adam & Eve had a different ending? Would we have had a need for a Savior? I also do not understand why a shedding of a person's blood has any eternal meaning. If Christ had to die it could have been of old age and still rise from the dead to show that there is life after death. Also, Christ's sayings seem to be sufficient rules to live by rather than worshiping Him or to have a formal church to belong to.

To allow debate, to leave open questions that can only ever offer stupid answers that will only believed by the ones who state them. To laugh at all the stupid answers people come up with... erm... But really, how does anyone know anything about God? and the whole thing is very much open to all sorts of answers, such as free will. Really, would it make any difference if there just wasn't a God at all, answers like free will sound rather like a cop-out. Maybe God doesn't want to be worshiped? The desire to be worshiped, if held by a man would be considered rather base, so why attach it to a supreme being?

Dude! What are you smoking??! You are talking yourself in circles. You ask why God creates ppl who don't worship and then you refer to Him as a term in an encyclopedia. Dodgy! well here's some news for you, He isn't a term in an encyclopedia, He's alive and He chose to make you even though you choose to refer to Him in this way. How would you feel if someone ignored you and referred to you as some words put together in a book and nothing more. Wake up! He loves you no matter what you say about him and that makes Him mightier than any human. Just remember: He loves YOU no matter what

Ok, here's a short free will argument: god created people with capacity for good and evil; with intelligence to make choices and to understand their implications. It's close to a "life is a test theory": God does not wish to have mindless slaves, but people who choose good over evil. Those who choose Him over the alternatives. Of course, not all religions believe this (Calvinism being something of an example). The beauty and the glory are in choosing God.
Arguing that your environment limits your choices is a soft determinism and leaves room for free will: God judges your choices given what you had to choose from. You still make choices. And good is more fundamental than where to eat.
Kant is a good choice as are Kierkagaard and Thomas Aquinas.

Major props to you for answering this question. I've always wondered about that too. I am an atheist; why did God create me unable to believe the 'proof' he'sso far given? If God is omniscient and omnipowerful, why am I not automatically MADE to believe?

this is dumb no im not answering the question but omygosh i always ask that i just dont get it either. and then when i think of i need aspirin o geezzz =] best of luck and heres what i can say and i wont guarantee it will sound smart. God just wants to give us a chance, he DOES know all but he wants to punish us fairly and not just say i knew you were going to do this because with knowing all he knows that we'll say "oh well you should just give me a chance because you havent even seen what im going to do..." blah blah we're only human.

Without being God Himself I can't answer this for sure. And I only really know the Bible so my answer will have to come from there (as opposed to any other religious book or in encyclopedias as you ask for).
But according to the Bible the first two humans had free will. There was also an angel who wanted higher glory than was due him (precisely that he wanted to be equal with God) who will eventually become Satan. Through lying Satan convinces Eve (who in turn convinces Adam) to disobey God. Basic story most people know. I know other religions go with a similar idea of an evil creation turning humans against God (the names change but the idea is the same).
What this did is raise a question for everyone (God, his angels, Satan, humans, demons, and to a lesser extent plants and animals)--that question being is God the right person to lead other living things. He may have created them, but does He have the right to say what they can and cannot do. Now God at the time was completely capable of destroying Satan and the humans who disobeyed Him, but that could backfire on Him. Other angels might have begun to wonder if maybe Satan had been right (that God was not the right person to lead) and that God was trying to hide that information from them. It could have lead to a general revolt that would require God to destroy every creation He had made.
What God did instead was to allow time to continue in its present path. To allow humans with Satan together to try to lead themselves. To see if they could either live equal or better to what God had given them. And to finally see if God really was trying to lead for the benefit of us or simply as a tyrant who had created a bunch of servants for the fun of it.
Judging by our current world system, it is easy enough for anyone (God, Satan, angels, demons, humans) to see that humans are quite unfit for leading themselves. It is easy enough to see also that Satan did not, does not, and never will deserve any of the glory or praise he sought. Now all that is left is for God to allow time for His current servants and followers to bring as many humans as possible back to God (which is why we have been left in this situation even after anyone can see God was right and Satan was wrong) before God destroys the failed system and restores what He wanted in the first place.
And afterwards if anyone (angel or human) tries again to say God was wrong God can point out to everyone what happened when He was left out of it. He can justifiably say He is what is best and no one anywhere could say otherwise. Many people say God is best but don't really realize what it means when they say that. They say it because they have been taught to say it. But when the time comes, everyone will know for sure because God will have allowed the experiment to occur that proves Him correct in His claim that He is what is best for the universe and all creation.

Because GOD loves us all the same and if we all worshiped God like we were suppose to and not have any sin in our lives the there would have been no need for salvation. Therefore God gives us the chance to chose him and go to Heaven or the Devil and go to Hell!!!!!!!!!!!!!
