I want to download copyprotected dvds to make clips for youtube.com. Is torretspy.com safe/legal?

No its not legal. It is used to back up information but you must own an original. Most the products are pirate and put up by people yoú´ll never meet, so anything that happens to your pc is your fault and prob not covered . use at your own risk

If you own a legit copy of the movie you are allowed by law to have a backup of the movie. That is why the software that allows you to break DVD encryption isn't just outright banned and illegal to begin with. Downloading movies that you do not own a legitimate copy of is illegal and if you already own the movie...why don't you just rip a copy of it for yourself? and then edit it to make youtube clips. Downloading anything from the internet has risk...that is why you get an anti-virus software I use AVG because it is free...and the you when you download stuff you simply right click on it and hit scan with AVG...and it if says no viruses open it up.

It is COMPLETELY illegal, if you use it, you can get caught by the authorities, and its wrong. :D
