I'm from Oklahoma. The only things that I can think of are recent bigfoot sightings around Ada and the famous Spook Lights near Miami,OK

The really weirdest thing is that half these counties are still dry counties and some are not dry, but can't serve or buy alcohol on Sundays. So, people were celebrating New Years on Sat. night. If you're celebrating New Years tonight it's in your own home or a private party. That's not a legend, it's the truth of part of the bible belt.

Massachusetts:
We have a crazy ghost on route 44 that talks to people over their car radios. We have 3 "ghost" towns that are currently under Quabbin Lake (towns were abandoned to make way for Boston water supply). We have a headless ghost that roams the Hoosac tunnel. We also have the home of Lizzie Borden, the 19th century spinster who killed her father and step-mother with an ax.

From Kansas...

We have Oz and one of the 7 gates to Hell (Stull, KS) even the Pope had refused to fly over that area of KS. We have tons at Fort Reily, many in all the small little towns.

Oh and I forgot about Sallie's House in Atchison, KS. The one that was on "Sightings" where they caught on tape the ghost leaving bloody scratches on the husband's stomach. http://www.salliehouse.com/ Also has been on "Unexplained Mysteries" as well as many other News reports, short movie like things and magazines.

I'm from Tennessee and there is this totally outrageous legend about Al Gore winning a presidential election once upon a time. Even today, there are still some gullible people who believe this tale.

Actually, most of them don't live in Tennessee.

I think we just have your typical ghosts around here. Oh, I guess there are those aliens hanging out at Wright Patterson Air Force Base.
