I feel threatened by what Saddam embodied: radical Islamic ideology run amok.

Your endless slamming of republicans hardly engenders real political discussion.

Could be you are feeling threatened by WASP's yourself. Hmmm...

Many were threatened by this man. However, I do not know that he personally killed anyone himself, yet he ordered many to be killed. Many corrupt leaders order the death of others. Many forms of ordering the death of others takes place by leaders of all countries. Is that not what war is too? Do not the leaders order their men & women to go kill others? Does that mean that we, as a society of people have the right to kill any leader who has ordered the death of others? If you answer yes, then does not justify the killing of many so called great leaders? If you answer no, then how does this get justified? There are some who agree with the killing of Saddam and others who don't. Who has the right to make that judgment call on another life? Prisons do not work, so instead of trying to find another solution...should we just start killing everyone?

I never personally felt threatened by Saddam. I personally hope someone ministerd to him about salvation through christ. I know its too late now. If Saddam had become a genuine born again believer could he have taught salvation to his country while serving life in prison. You know like a TV evangelist for his country?

I never felt threatened by Saddam Hussein. Someone said that the Kurds were threatened by him. That may be so, but why should it be our responsibility to emancipate them from his rule? I say, if they were threatened enough, they would have done something about it themselves. Instead, it is convenient to allow someone else to come in and take care of your problems. Inasmuch, now look at Iraq; they are engaged in a civil war.

Where to now?

Consider this scenario: The French and English invade Germany in 1930 - and someone posts the question: "Who here has ever felt threatened by Adolf Hitler?" to the people of those two countries.

I have no problem with being proactive when it comes to Islamic terrorists and those who support or provide aid to them. None what so ever.
It isn't very good policy to be reactive when you're dealing with people who would cut your head off just to make another video.

I lay awake many nights wondering what would happen to the big oil CEOs if saddam ever disrupted our oil supply and we were forced to develop green energy. Who knows? That might have led to logical consideration of human over reproduction, over consumption, economic Darwinism, climate change, a foreign policy based on perpetual warfare, not to mention our imperial ties to the middle east...I shudder to think.

Saddam was not a threat to this country. He despised bin Laden. He hated Iran. He had no military to speak of. He was not a threat to us. To his people, maybe, but not to us.
