*laughing* I took mine down this weekend. Because I have three days off work and it takes me that long! Saturday I took down my tree, yesterday I took down my porcelain doll display (and vacummed up a ton of fake "snowflakes"...we are NOT using those next year), and today my balcony lights go down, last night was the last night they got turned on. All that work for just a month! But it was worth it, it lightens my heart and makes things so festive. God bless you in 2007. The whirring santa can come out next year!

I took my tree down the day after because the pine needles were starting to fall everywhere... but I left up some of the santa decorations, and my fake holly lights.
Those will come down after the new year.
You can really keep them up as long as you want... but I think they should be down by the end of January.

The traditional time for taking down the Christmas decorations is twelfth night, the 6th Jan. This is the date of Epiphany, which is when the Magi were supposed to have visited Jesus.
However most people take them down before then, including us - normally the night of 1st January is when we take them all down.

Most people take them down starting the day after New Years.
I know of a couple of houses that were decorated to also mention "Happy New Year".

1st of Jan. Start with a clean sweep and take everything down and have a tidy up, nice way to start the new year!! However I did accidently leave out a chrsitmas dec. all year, this year. So if you want keep keep your inflatable Santa up, you should do whatever makes you happy!

I think its supposed to be the twelfth day after Christmas, which is January 6th. But I don`t think it hurts to leave up a few decorations. My singing Homer Christmas may just live to see Easter !!
