Substitute in 3 different x values and come out with a y value. The ordered pair would be (x,y)

e.g. for the equation you have stick in 0 for x and you will get 4*0+1=1, so y =1 when x=0. The ordered pair is (0,1). Do that for three different values of x and you will get your three ordered pairs.

on account that this equation has infinitely many ideas, we ought to continuously no longer have too quite some a issue: How relating to the ordered pair that sounds like (0,y)? to discover y, we replace 0 for x and resolve: -4*0 + 3y = 6, so 3y = 6, for this reason y = 2. subsequently one ordered pair is (0,2) further, we are able to attempt to discover one that sounds like (a million,y). to discover y, we replace a million for x and resolve: -4*a million + 3y = 6, so -4 + 3y = 6, 3y = 10, for this reason y=10/3. subsequently yet another ordered pair is (a million, 10/3). basically make up a cost for 'x' and notice what 'y' seems to be!

y = 4x-1
For x = -2, y = -9 => (-2,-9)
For x = -1, y = -5 => (-1, -5)
For x = 0, y = -1=> (0, -1)
For x = 1, y = 5 => (1, 5)
For x = 2, y = 7 => (2, 7)

Just pick a value for x, and solve for y.

Example: x = 0. then y = 4(0) - 1 = -1. So the point is (0, -1).

Substitute numbers for x & solve for y

x y
0 -1
1 3
2 7

(0, -1)
(1, 3)
(2, 7)

Just pick any numbers for x-values to get the y-values, here are some examples:

y=4(0)-1
y=-1
(0,-1)

y=4(2)-1
y=7
(2,7)

y=4(4)-1
y=15
(4,15)

substitute a value in for x...solve for y.

ex. y=4x-1
y=4(3)-1
y=12-1
y= 11
the ordered pair is (3,11)
y=4x-1
y=4(5)-1
y=20-1
y=19
the ordered pair is (5,19)
y=4(1)-1
y=4-1
y=3
the ordered pair is (1,3)

hope that helped!

Pick any number you like for 'x'. Sub it in and find the corresponding 'y' value. Pick an easy number.

Then do it again.....and then again.

Those will be three pairs of numbers on the line.
