I have a 93 chevy pickup 2wd and the other day I noticed that my brake lights were not working... the reverse lights work the blinkers and hazards work but the break light won't come on when I hit the brake pedal...I checked all the bulbs and they are not burned out...what else can I do to fix the problem?

The brake light fuse maybe burned out. If your brake lights share the same light as your blinkers then the connection from you brake light wire is broken or burned out causing the signal of you using the brake to not work to trigger the brake lights. While the signal of you putting your hazards on goes through no problem to the same area that your brake lights are giving off the hazard signal.

Check the fuse, if it is good the check the brake light switch on the upper pedal frame. If you have a continuity tester or multimeter check the wires which feed the switch to make sure you have juice. You should have no problem figuring out this as the brake light circuit on an older Chevy is pretty straight forward. If you have to you can test it from the fuse block, fuse, switch, wires, sockets and finally bulbs. But if all the brake lights don't work it's almost certainly a fuse or switch. Good luck and Happy New Year.

maximum in all probability a loose cord or a short somwhere contained in the brake mild wiring... verify your battery and ascertain each thing there is clamped down tight, no loose wires, no bare wires touching steel... artwork your some time past. If the lighting fixtures are not going out, which ability that the lighting fixtures circuit is continually being energized from someplace... lower back, factors to a short or crossed wires.
