Hi all. Bear with me because this is a bit long winded. My husband put a cordless keyboard and mouse onto my computer. All ok except since then i keep having to wait ages to get to a new page especially my yahoo mail. I keep getting a message across the top of my computer just below the search bar saying 'This website wants to install the following add on, adobe flash reader from adobe systems inc.If you trust this website and add on and you want to install it, click here' x at the end of the line. I tried to instal, but ends up keep bleeping and giving me a message saying 'maybe unsafe'. So i decided that i don't want to instal it. However, i can't stop it from flashing up on my screen every time i try to go to a different page/site on my computer. As i said before, it now goes so slow, and once this thing bleeps, my page/site then comes up. I have tried right clicking to see if theres a delete option, but there isn't. How do i stop this, and why is my computer slowing? Thanks.

Can't believe it, everythings speeded up now, should have done it days ago. Thanks for all your answers, but its only right that i give the best answer to the 1st member that answered me. Thanks again.

Just install it. The website requires an Adobe Flash plug-in.

Under "Start", "control panel", "add or remove software...", check the list of installed software and Uninstall the one that refers to the Adobe Flash Reader unless your new hardware needs it. Also, you need to run "Registry Mechanic" which I highly recommend as a very reliable way to fix your PC's registry entries. They get changed every time you do a new hardware/software install etc. Registry Mechanic is not freeware, but it's worth the cost and can be downloaded from
http://www.download.com. It does some fixes for free.

Lots of websites require the use of "third party" programs to do things - usually whizzy graphics - it saves them having to "re-invent the wheel" each time. Adobe Flash player is one of these and one of the more reliable and less invasive as well. I always make sure I have the latest version from time to time.

Working with a slow computer can be time consuming as programs/ applications take a long time to start. This problem is more pronounced in computers which have been used for 6 or more months. More information at http://fixit.in/slowcomputer.html
