I have to wait three more weeks to find out what we're having, and the suspense is KILLING me.

As much as I want to tell you that it is fantastically accurate, I am guessing that it is about as accurate as most "old wives tales" for determining the gender of your baby (50-50). It was accurate for my first child, as was the "rate of fetal hearbeat" concept; but both were wrong with determining the gender for baby #2 that I am currently baking. I was hoping for the prediction to be right almost too much ( i basically convinced myself that it was a girl), that when I found out I was having a boy, I was slightly (and only temporarily) disappointed (how crazy is that?). Anyhow, congratulations on the new baby! They rock!

The gender is determined by what chromosome the father donates to the egg. If it's an y than the child will be a boy, if it's a x than the child will be a girl. Also, with me, I know what by baby would be by my intuition. I just knew the baby was a girl, and sure enough she was! I know that the Chinese Calendar's are fun and all, but they're not accurate. Just go with your gut!

Unless you're using the Chinese Lunar Calendar along with ovulation charting and timed intercourse, I'd say it's about as accurate as a wild guess. But it might be fun just to try.

Good luck!

I was wondering this same thing- it was very accurate for myself- said I was having a boy, and I did. There is a history of boys in my husband's fam, so next I'd like to try for a girl... we didn't find out the sex of our first baby, and I had looked at the calendar, but didn't really know what to expect. So I'm thinking of doing the same with our next baby :) I know it's so hard not knowing, but all that suspense that leads up to once you finally have the baby, it's amazing once you finally find out :) hehe

P.S.- my gut told me I was gonna have a girl- everyone said the same thing, but we had a boy :)

Anyways, goodluck and congrats! :)

The statistics I've heard say it's 80-85% accurate, but don't forget...you start off w/ a 50-50 chance. I know it's exciting and hard to be patient, so play the games and tricks, then see how right they are when you go in for your ultrasound.

I looked at 3-4 different charts and half said boy, half said girl...turns out they were BOTH right!

you know, im a little mixed up on that myself. Although it did predict all 3 of my girls correctly, I have seen some websites that make you use your lunar age at conception which is like 9 mos added to your age at conception, and some just say your regular age. I went to this one web site that said to add 2 years to age at conception. It gets a little confusing. and im sorry, but I dont have the money to fly to Bejing and see the actual chart and instructions for myself! So I would just wait for the US, I myself have to wait until February to find out if we are FINALLY having a boy or not...I hate waiting.

well i used the calendar and it predicted i was having a boy and i am. Everyone i know that has used it , it has predicted right. don't get me wrong it may be a coincidence but its strange it seems to be right quite alot. i would take it with a pinch of salt until you get the ultrasound.
