He was very important to the American Revolution and the early start to the U.S. His writing the Declaration of Inpendence to give a major voice of the Revolution was extremely important. He was, of course, influenced by several philosophers when writing it. He was influential in getting the country started when he was part of the Constitutional Convention. He was the first Secretary of State and then later the 3rd President, so he was very important to the that respect. His securing the Louisiana Purshase doubled the size of the country.
