She is sleeping all the time because of the depression. I had the same problem even on medication I slept ALL day everyday. Maybe her meds is not working.

Wow, you really need to talk to her when she's not sleeping so you don't look like you're nagging her. Take her out to dinner, and have a talk about why she stays in bed. She will probably open up to you. She might hate her life and just want to get away from it by just lying in bed and putting her head under the covers, if so, there is a major problem, maybe with your marriage/the kids are getting her down, maybe something else which isn't quite obvious. OR she's just plain tired, advise her to get a bloodtest to see if shes amemic (sorry, don't know how to spell it). Whatever seems to be causing the problem, it most definately is something that needs to change asap. Get a babysitter and take her out and talk.... communication is key.....good luck xx

Maybe she just likes to sleep. It's a comfort zone for everyone in my house except my husband. On vacation and when we can we stay up a little late and baske in the joy of sleeping... Everything esle is fine. My husband get up early and starts moving and slamming thing around - annoying..

My husband use to do this. He is bipolar and it is a true sign of a deep depression. I would advise her to go to the doctor and have her medicine evaluated. Educate yourself as well on how to live with someone who has a mental illness. That will help you with how to talk to her in a way that she might be more ap to listen. Depression effects the entire family so the entire family needs to support her.

Maybe the meds. are too strong. Talk to her and then talk to her
Doctor. Something is wrong. You could have a depress person
and you could have meds. but cannot have a depressed
person on meds and still be depreesed.

One way, you are lucky. You can sleep with her all the time.
Seriously, her depression can make her do it. Her medications can make her do it. Is there any "hanky panky" going on? Is she always in your bed ?
First thing to do is to take her to a psychiatrist. You go with her and explain the situation

my wife was on those meds also that's a side effect of the medicine chances are she is seeing a psychologist (who often gets paid to push drugs) what she really needs is to speak to a therapist who will help her deal with depression by talking to her (those are the ones that you see in the movies with the person laying in the chair) they will only prescribe drugs if you really need them

Sounds to me like serious depression. You may want to make an appointment with a Psychiatrist or a therapist.

Whatever is happening is something beyond the scope of anyone here. This could be any number of equally serious problems.
Please urge your wife to see her doctor. Go with her to that appt and describe this to the doctor, in front of your wife. It could well be that your wife's description of this to her doctor does match what you are seeing. But having your description as well as your wife's will help the doctor to help your wife.
If nothing else, do this for the kids. They deserve both of you, and as healthy as you can be.
