Was it the entire thing of him being hung and then afterwards yet?
Just wondering. I have not wanted to watch the news because of that.

I think so, but Saddam scares me. I don't like him and I pretty much decided not to watch the news either because I don't wanna see the video footage or the pictures of his death.

You can watch the video up to the point where he is hanged. They suddenly stop recording at that point. The video is clear and you can see him and the executioners in great detail.

They record again after the body is removed from the gallows. The video is poor quality and you cannot tell if it really is him or not. His face is covered with a cloth except for his nose and parts of his eyes.

Why did they stop the video before the actual execution when they had declared they would show it on TV?

Why is video so poor after he is removed from the gallows?

Why is so much of his face covered that you cannot see him well enough to identify him on TV?

What are the chances that is was really one of his look-alikes who was executed - one who was willing to sacrifice himself for his beliefs?

Someone as rich as Saddam would have easily made a deal with the government to "look the other way" as he left the country in exchange for all his wealth being left behind.

the execution itself was not broadcasted on TV , which i think is quite logic, i mean we don't live 15th century where people were hung up in public, that's the last thing they could do for the man, showing it on tv would be even more humiliating than it already was! and besides, the face was not covered, it was clear to see it was him. seems like there is not much progress in the world when it comes to human rights! being hung up in this time!???? Getting a lifetime prison would be ok.

How does one finish something that never started? The Government of Iraq has not released any footage of the execution.

From what I have read, that will not be shown publicly in any form. I believe each one of us is diminished when a death sentence is carried out.
