most people clame that they're not racist, but I can think of no other explanation. Nassau County is like the most segregated place in the world.

because they think they are better than everyone based on their lily white skin......

Racism is alive and well in America......look all around you. Look at what happened in New Orleans,

Anyone who thinks racism doesn't exist must be white.

Because when a lot of black people move in, the neighborhood goes to hell. I have watched it happen to two of the neighborhoods I lived in. Come on, everyone knows that the crime rate is always higher in predominantly black neighborhoods. Show me one black neighborhood that doesn't have a high crime rate. White people look at the stats, and they get scared.
If blacks would band together, stop portraying such negative stereotypes, white people would stop thinking this way. I know many of you will call me racist for this, however I lived in it, I see it every day, I accept it. Of course I know many black people that are educated, smart, reserved and don't behave "ghetto" because they have nothing to prove, but many blacks do and white people don't understand that, nor do they like it. Given there is a lot of white trash out there, but most white people don't identify with that.

This is the way I feel. I live in a mixed neighborhood. I feel this way. I don't care what COLOR anyone is. If some nasty white people moved in my neighborhood I would not be happy. If some nasty Asian people moved in, I wouldn't be happy.

Color has nothing to do with it. PEOPLE have something to do with it. I do not understand racism. I never have understood.

My only hope is that Barick Obama is our first black President and maybe, just maybe all this B.S. will end once and for all.....

The number one reason is because it makes property value drop.
This has nothing to with racism in general. I am not saying this isn't the reason at times but look at black neighborhoods. Compared to a white neighborhoods the rate of crime and violence in a black area is crazy. Don't call me a racist, this is a fact and white people fear that when black families move into their area, this will happen there also. They see it becoming a ghetto with all the inherent dangers. Black people only have themselves to blame, with the gangster images they portray on TV, the crime, drug dealing and violence they let go on in their own neighborhoods. The black people that are normal everyday people need to step up and try to get this gangster image, young black teens like to portray, changed. I mean come on, if you want to act dangerous and tough, people are going to treat you that way. So if you have a black person move in beside you, like it or not, you are most likely going to have a harder time selling your house to a white family. So in order to sell your house to a white or black family, you are going to have to sell the house at a lower price. Lets face it, whites hold alot of the money and power in this country yet. Say your house was worth $100,000 and a black family moves in, now because some whites pass your house up, you need to drop the price to $75,000 to get it to sell. Are you going to be happy losing $25,000 just because a certain type of person is living next to you? I know I wouldn't be happy with a loss like that. White people that don't want black people to buy property next to them might not necessarily be racist, just afraid of losing property value. Think about that before you jump on the bandwagon and say whites are mostly racist, because that in itself is a racist statement, and doesn't make you any better than the whites that are racist. I for one, am sick of black people screaming racism at the drop of a hat, just because they percieve something not going there way and a white person is involved. It's time you realize life sucks at times for everyone and complaining about it, isn't gonna change anything.

Not all white people are racist. I for one am not racist and won't mind it if blacks lived in our neighborhood even though its a small drive way with a few houses but not all whites are racists. and the ones who are, are scared to admit that they are.

it has to do with the NIMBE system, the property value will decrease because insurance companies believe that uneducated minorities have more of a tendency to commit crimes as oppsed to educated college level minorities....or for the short version, pull your pants up, get some knowledge and leave peoples stuff alone, because the "gangsta" look does not fly in the world of decision making...

there's different cultures in different parts of the country. i notice that in the south blacks like to stay within their cultural system. but i think most white people don't care if there's black people in the neighborhood.
