Nicolae Ceausescu was tried by a group of Romanian Army Officers and executed, not quite legally, but close. In the absence of a functioning government, and in view of his transgressions, reasonably close to legal.

How about Z.A.Bhutto from Pakistan, who was executed, when Army took control under Zia ul Haq.
Most of such executions, whether Bhutto's,Najibullah's or now Saddam's has been instigated & had the backing of U.S.,THE SELF ASSIGNED POLICEMAN of the world.

The people who first come to mind are Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette of France (1793), and Charles I of England (1649), but probably there have been others since then. Regicide is not such a popular act.

Hmm, I'd guess Nicolae CeauÅescu but I'm pretty sure his "trial" outcome was set before he went it (and it didn't last long if I remember correctly). Don't get me wrong, evil dictators should be punished, but it would be nice to have a fair trial. That was Christmas time in the late 80s/early 90s. Has there been anyone since?
