The commercial sounds cliche but I've found that "Dawn" does take grease out of your way. Try some Dawn dishwashing liquid and you won't have to worry about the color bleeding.

First make sure its not a cotton blend. Even so, take some dishwasher liquid, not dishwashing liquid. Wet the area with the correct temperature water, respective to the color of the garment, hot for whites, cold for dark and warm for multi colored). Then apply diluted dishwasher solution to the greasy area, apply a little toothbrush action on the spot, rinse, turn garment over apply solution to the underside. rinse and reapply as needed. Or washer machine the garment in dishwasher liquid use like a clothes detergent.

I totally agree with heartless 63's answer! I used to work in a movie theater's concession stand. And always got that butter flavor oil all over my shirts. I would put "Dawn" right where the oil or grease was and then throw it in the washer. Presto!! It was all gone! Works, we promise!

Dawn is the best. Work dawn into the fabric while dry, let sit for a little bit then wash. Do not use goo gone or W-D 40; these products are oil based.

Use a little WD40. Works wonders on grease or oil stains for clothes.

I used to know a lady who used oven cleaner for grease stains on clothing. She used it for grease stains from outside, like you'd get working on a car, and also for grease stains you might get from cooking. Her clothes all looked immaculate so it must have worked.

first pre-soak with something like spray and wash. next soak with liquid Tide and rub in(you may have to do this step several times) depending on how delicate the fabric is will determine how hard you rub and how how hot the water you wash in. you may also want to pre-soak withe oxy clean and add it to your wash This process has never failed me. Do not dry the clothes until the stain is gone as it will set the stain permantly
