My mom's home network I set up for her has gone haywire. How do I set up a new home network where the desktop is connected to the linksys wireless router and her laptop is wirelessly connected. I would like the network to be on her desktop and have files share as well as the printer. The printer is connected to her desktop through usb. I have turned off the firewalls on both computers. thanks.

I am in a similar bind. My laptop will connect to the router but internet won't work. You said that you disabled the firewall, good.

Under control panel there is a network setup wizard. Just re-run that on the desktop computer, once done you can save the configuration to a floppy disk or flash drive and use that on the laptop computer. That should install all of the correct settings on the laptop to make it work correctly.

Also make sure that the printer is shared. Under its' properties window click share this printer.

You may have to fiddle with the wireless router settings, but that is doubtful as long as you can still get internet on the laptop.
