how do you get past the cave troll in the lord of the rings the two towers?

Shoot an arrow in the face of the cave troll. Or tell yourself trolls don't realy exist. If that don't work then have Spock mind meld with it, after all trolls are only misunderstood, a little simpathy and understanding.. forget it your already eaten!
