My take is that his hanging had nothing to do with concern with justice because he could not have committed the evil he did without US government support. Also, why do you think he was silenced before he could speak and incriminate the major players in the atrocities associated with his regime. And besides, I don't believe in capital punishment. Bush and Blair and the Israeli government are no lesser criminals.

You can watch the video up to the point where he is hanged. They suddenly stop recording at that point. The video is clear and you can see him and the executioners in great detail.
They record again after the body is removed from the gallows. The video is poor quality and you cannot tell if it really is him or not. His face is covered with a cloth except for his nose and parts of his eyes.
Why did they stop the video before the actual execution when they had declared they would show it on TV?
Why is video so poor after he is removed from the gallows?
Why is so much of his face covered that you cannot see him well enough to identify him on TV?
What are the chances that is was really one of his look-alikes who was executed - one who was willing to sacrifice himself for his beliefs?
Someone as rich as Saddam would have easily made a deal with the government to "look the other way" as he left the country in exchange for all his wealth being left behind.

I always felt bad for the guy. He had a chance ot do so much good, but used his power and position to hurt and intimiadate people.
I truly believe part of the problem in Iraq today is, that Saddam never surrendered and if he had surrendered and signed a document of surrender, Iraq would be more stable.

I am glad to see him go and I am sure that most the people of Iraq probably feel a sigh of relief that he is gone. Now if we can just get Bin Laden

♥ I have mixed feelings. Apart of me felt like he deserved it and the other part of me felt like he should have just been sentenced to life in prison, not hanged. I'm sure he had good qualities.

I think that his hanging video should be made public to prove that it really did happen or if this is some big scam.
