No, I report because people ask stupid questions and answer them stupidly.

Depends on what they are being reported for. Too many people report for the stupidest things. They take comments too personal. They ask a question, and if they don't like what they read they start sniveling. An example: MERRY CHRISTMAS upsets maybe 14% of Americans, so now the malls and business' say HAPPY HOLIDAYS. Since when does the minority dictate to the majority? I don't know how you were brought up, but I was taught there will be a lot in life that I won't like, but more people than not might like it, so I learn to live with it. I won't go sniveling about it, I work around it, or make it work to my advantage. Live with it!!!

Since I love answering interesting questions and reading well-informed responses, I report to help Yahoo keep the amount of sludge on the site at a minimum, so the freaks don't destroy the site by filling it with sludge.

Since everyone using this site agreed to abide by the guidelines, reporting abuses is a legitimate (and much needed) activity.

Insofar as my reports lead to less sludge, yes, I feel good about it.

The people who get a thrill from trying to destroy this site are the pathetic ones.

No, it just makes me depressed that the person was horrible enough for me to report. Not that I find many people like that, thank god.

Does asking stupid questions like this and annoying other people raise YOUR self esteem? Just wondering...

You know their are some people that thrive on it, I always looked down upon it. It's none of my business. I can do better things with my life instead of down grading others to enhance my own human status.

No. Only people with issues get a kick out something like that.
