I have stopped thousands of Japanese people on the street, and there are MANY self professed furiitas out there.
They are what you would call in America a lazy bum I guess.
The kid that doesn't work, just scabs off his parents money the whole time while he goes out and has fun.

They are usually the late high schoolers, early university students that haven't learned to work for themselves yet because they get everything off their rich mum and daddy.

"furiitaa", translated as "Freeters", is the Japanese word for people (aside from students and housewives) who don't have jobs. Freeters are considered to be lazy freeloaders. They usually stay at home and live with their parents. They are looked upon as losers.

This behavior is also looked down upon in Western society!

Actually, many furitaas do work. They just don't do the salaryman corporate thing. They drift from P/T job to P/T job. They do things like working in convenience stores, video rental, etc.
