try the freezer method first before you set the wax color in. we just got a product called 'candle wax remover', by Goo Gone, at Bed Bath and Beyond. you could try that next if needed. good luck, and yes this is the dude, not the dude-ette.

Your fundamental problem will be heating up the wax enough to remove it while not melting the overlay. Remove what solid wax that you can, then turn your tap on hot and run it over the wax. Once it is softened, scrape off what you can. Repeat until gone. Alternately, try using a hair dryer.

if it is colored you are screwed. put a piece o paper over top of it and press on it with a hot iron , do this several times to absorb the wax. the color is dyed and probly will not come out. hand wash do not put in the dryer.

Delicate machine wash with dishwasher liquid not dishwashing liquid.Or do it by hand rinse well.
