Racism, predjudice, unfairness, bigotry, oppression, stereotyping, and many other forms of evil will exist as long as the Earth endures. But luckily as we move forward into the future, people are now more aware of how wrong that is and some try to change things. But ultimately, I do not think these things will completely cease until the world's end at the Second Coming. People are just wrong and like to belong to groups in which they can exclude others and make themselves feel superior.

Oh, I know how u feel...I also have a dark male friend and people do look at me strangely when I'm with him, but sadly I don't think racism will stop anytime soon. You asked why, well I think it is because some people are not used to seeing people of different cultures and countries together...but just try to ignore those people that give you funny looks, I mean, does it really matter what they think of you? Seriously don't worry about them ;)

Personally no, I'm not that way but America was founded on it. How many true American Indians do you see in this huge population. Read the real history books not his-story, Do you know why the Pilgrims left Europe and who they really were. Do you know actually how slavery got started, and also this great world of religions, we are all on one planet to live together as one, but unfortunately ignorance has a high level in the world.

Racism has to be learned.
Who teaches it?
Parents, teachers, churchmen, media figures and so on.
Why does it continue?
Ignorance really.
500 years ago everybody KNEW the Earth was flat.
4,000 years ago everyone in the Middle East KNEW the Earth was limitted to just the Mediteranean and just beyond.
Well, geneticists have only KNOWN for less than 10 years now that our skin color is just an adaptation to produce vitamin D!
You don't think the Earth is flat do you?
Give it time to sink in.
The flat Earth crowd is a dying breed.

I live in Canada, your neighbour to the north. Here we are a pretty tolerant bunch but there still exists some prejudice. I am ashamed to state that I do not believe that this form of abuse will leave through my lifetime. As a matter of fact I do not think that we as humans will ever be fully mature enough to accept and respect one and other as equals and brothers. I am handicapped and there is the same thing for us.

No, it will never leave. Suspicion and distrust of strangers is built into us and has been part of our makeup since our long-ago ancestors came down out of the trees and began to walk upright. It was vital to survival, and we don't seem to be able to do away with it despite the evolution of our brains into the remarkable instrument they are today. And I assure you that you won't change a single mind by telling people what you think they need to do. Those changes have to come from within; they can't be forced from without.

It won't end because it is human to judge. Racism is not only defined by color of skin, but can be by many other factors. For instance, you could choose to hate everybody who chose to wear blue and orange together on the same shirt. I know because I am a Florida Gator fan living in Georgia.

I totally agree with you, I live in a county that people are so black phobia its not funny. I think it is so childish, what is a skin color any ways, everyone has feelings and bleeds the same way, no matter the skin color, People need to grow up , what are they so afraid of, I think it is very disgraceful people have to be so racist.

No, racism wouldn't leave but the rate could improve though. To say, I have seen and met people who are actually racist, no lie. Racism is a part of how we discriminate among our races and our reaction to other cultures and customs,as it will never be completely gone.

I doubt that it will!! After so many years there are still people who see themselves as "better" or "superior". When in reality the color of our skin just dictates where our ancestors are from not who we are. We are all capable of greatness and the color of our skin has absolutely nothing do with this. I live in NY and I'm sure it happens here too and this city is a huge melting pot!!
