Transfer photos from your computer to your iPod photo.
On your Mac, create an album in iPhoto that contains the images you want to transfer to your iPod. On your PC, create a folder that contains the photos you want to transfer. Or pick photos from your Adobe PhotoShop Album 2.0 or higher or Elements 3.0 collections.
With your iPod connected, select your iPod in the iTunes source list and then click the iPod Options button.
In the iPod preferences window, click the Photos tab.
Select an iPhoto album or choose Other to select the folder, or other location, of photos on your hard disk (iTunes can not access photos that are stored on a locked volume, like a CD).
Click OK, and then watch as your iPod is updated, transferring your photos along with your music. Storing images on your iPod will take up more space than just your music.
When the update is complete, eject your iPod and disconnect it from your computer.

When your iPod is connected, open the iTunes box that has all of the tabs for music, games, etc. Go to the one with Photos and click "sync from..." and you should easily be able to import directly from your photo file.

Plan B: Go to IMPORT in the pull-down menu and try it that way. If you are using a PC, it may be much more difficult, but the answer will lie in going through the iTunes program.

I usually treat my ipod as a harddrive and drag files over to it from my computer. I don't even bother with itunes or ilife...they take too much time.
