for those who dont know Pakistan well.
1:It is not a poor country it has the 4rth largest growing economy in the world and after some research it is state that Pakistan could be the richest country after 15 or 12 years
2:women in Pakistan have comeplete rights but there are some women (only in Baluchistan province ) who are uneducated but still there are very less women like that.
3:Pakistan is a nuclear country and has one of the most powerfull military in the world and also controls a powerfull intelligence system
4:Siva gave a very good answer.western media shows pakistan as a poor country with terrorism in it but it is not that way ! they donot show any positive things of Pakistan.You can say they are propegating against Pakistan
5:Pakistan is one of the richest countries in the world according to mineral wealth.
i can write more things for you to decide what this country is like but iam out of words here since there is a limit to write

Never been there. I only hear and see Some negative things about the country. So i reserve judgement till i get there, if i get there and see how things are for myself.

I can't help but to wonder what the will of the Pakistani people is. Things are safe enough for Musharraf to keep his head above water, but he's not the elected leader, and I wonder how the US would respond if the Democracy that is "on the march" eventually made it to Pakistan.

I figure it to be a poor desert country, probably with some chaos and violence, Muslims, women walking around hiding their faces, as long as no crazy terrorist come out of that country trying to bomb us, I could give a crap less what happens there, personally...don't care, will never visit, and hope my country doesn't bomb it then spend our tax dollars rebuilding it

I think if I was going to make one sewage treatment plant for the whole world to use, Pakistan would be my second choice for it's location. Right behind France.
