Are glasses nerdy?

I am sick and tired of people saying that glasses are nerdy and people telling me to get contacts! Contacts aren't that easy you know! Why don't you try and go put a piece of plastic in yur eye! People always associate glasses with nerds...but it's not true! If you say that then yur gay so screw you!!! Sorry to sound mean!! I mean it's not our fault we can't see. The only options are wear the glasses, get contatcts, get Lasik, or go around being blind. I'm getting Lasik when I am older but for now i wear glasses! I am not a nerd! I wear brand name clothes, hair in layers, highlights as well, i'm slim, about 5 ft., i'm 13, i weigh like 89 pounds... do i sound like a nerd?

Glasses are not nerdy at all. I think what you need to do is wear them with confidences and everything else will fall into place. You can still look "cool" with glasses on...like I said it's all in the way you wear them (you know with confidences!).
Tell them glasses are a trendy accessory and that they should go get a pair...maybe then they'll have 20/20 vision and realize wearing glasses aren't so "nerdy" and not a big deal either. Don't they have better things to do?

Glasses aren't nerdy at all. They are acctually really stylish if you have the right frames. I have glasses and I have really nice frames, and they look really stylish with what I wear. I always wear brand names too.

In some major fashion shows, they use glasses as an accesorie to give outfits that extra touch that makes them oh so chic. They have accesorized with glasses alot and it adds that nice cute, or sexy, or simple touch to the outfit to make it look complete

So dont hate your glasses. If you have the right frames, (which you probably do cause you sound like a fashionable person) you will look great! Dont mind those other people.

I dont wear my glasses all the time. Just when I need to see something in the distance. So they stay in thier case alot. But I like wearing them as an accesorie now.

My friends are actually jelous that I have glasses and she actually wants real ones cause she says Im so lucky. Glasses are a pain. but they can turn out to be really really fashionable.

honey are you sure that you want to know if wearing glasses or nerdy or are you trying to advertise your self on here or what I liked the way you throw your little personal info in there. No to the beginning part of your question wearning glasses or not always nerdy some people look real good in their glasses,but as far as the contacts goes I saw this girl that had some carcoal gray with white around the outter edge and it did not look good I was saying that she should have gotten her some glasses maybe she would look better

Glasses are NOT nerdy! Although I despise having to wear glasses [I have had them since I was in 1st grade] I think its *cute* to have glasses. I wore glasses up to the 7th grade [I got contacts after that] but everyone tells me I look adorable with glasses on. I bet you do too! And trust me I'm probably the biggest nerd in my school...you don't sound nerdy at all! =] Be confident.

Glasses are something that will help you see the things that is infront of you, Everything from bad to good we are made to see it all. and If some people don't agree with that then it is totally their problem there is nobody or nothing that is nerdy but them...
In my school there is this guy that most of the girls like, and suddenly he started to wear glasses and nobody thought it was nerdy. I think he looked more sophisticated, and in this case the glasses was just something positive for him...

Girl glasses aren't nerdy, it is just something people got in their mind from films, cartoons and stuff like that and nobody says that it is right..

Keep having your glasses if that is what you want and you will see that people will grow up and realize that they were wrong.

ok first of all: wearing brandname clothing( go read some of friedrich nietzsche ideas (those people out there who kno what im talking about- YOU ROCK)), hairs in layers, having highlights, being slim does not NOT make you a nerd so stop advertising urself.

next: glasses do not make you nerdy.

nerdyness is how you hold yourself- if YOU are confident about having glasses then none of this is gonna get to you and make people think you as a nerd. i have glasses and i WANT contacts and i used to think that glasses do make me nerdy but that just got me down and i just started being shy, reserved and ****. so ofcourse i carried myself like a nerd. and there you go....

Glasses aren't nerdy! I wear glasses and tried contacts once, you are right, they aren't easy. Personally I wouldn't want to put something in my eye. Gasses make a person look very sophisticated. Don't listen to what other people say, if they have time in their life to make fun of people or worry about what other people do or wear, then how boring is their life!!!!

Glasses are fine I like them sometimes! Just get some stylish ones not big thick coke-bottles.

If it hurts you putting in contacts, try going to a different store and asking the optician to give you a lesson. Some opticians are better than others. Mine showed me a way it's pretty well painless, since I wear contacts sometime.

Glasses if you have the right style look sophisticated, and they make you look smart, and hey you can't help that you have a eye problem, but i do think you weigh a little to little...89 pounds!!!!I'm 5ft. 6" and I weigh 117lbs. So glasses don't have to be mean you're nerdy it's just how you present them, how you show them, wear them, work them!

glasses arent nerdy and contacts suck!!! pppl just think ok the average nerd is a computer geef with glasses who spends there lunch peroid in the girls bathrommand eats peanut butter and jelly everyday with ketchup on top but for you i'd stick with glasses and if ppl keep telling u that just dis em back ur cool stay with the groove of the glasses fight the contact ppl !!!
