Everyone is a little racist, period. I think it's one of those things we can't escape, but perhaps if we all did our best to try and be tolerant, things wouldn't get so blown out of proportion.
It's important to realize that one member of a certain race does not exemplify an entire race, so when faced with another person of a different race that rubs you the wrong way, try to remember it's the individual you don't care for, NOT the entire group of people.

Nahh it's just an opinion, that comes with being free some folks are born afraid and they look for reasons, finding a difference any difference seems to justify it for them. But the way i look at it is firstly you have to talk to them if you don't want leaving them to spread it to their children secondly racism i don't think can last much longer mainly due to the fact the world is shrinking rather quickly and it's easier to hate someone when they're at a distance and not right next door

No. Racism is the result of ignorance, stupidity, and incorrect preconceived notions. However, since most people are ignorant, and stupid, and preconceive notions incorrectly, then racism probably is a fact of life. But do remember one thing, please? While racism exists, and anyone with a higher than dull normal IQ is opposed to it, it isn't really as common as some would like you to believe. Most people don't really care about race, they are more worried about offending some hypersensitive jerk who sees racism in everything. I actually think, in today's America at least, that racism isn';t the problem as much as some people's overreaction to a perceived slight. Just because somebody doesn't like you, or disagrees with you, doesn't mean he/she is a racist, it just may mean that he/she doesn't like you, or disagrees with you.

Yeah, it is. Every generation starts racism back over. We have/had the power to stop it but it will never stop unless the world stops.

I see it this way...Racism is part of human nature--that it’s always existed and always will. A look at human history shows that intolerance and hate is as fundamental to human nature as is love and that no matter how you label it people will categorize "THE OTHER" as different and inferior whether it is race, or religion, or sexual orientation or national origin or color or something that we haven't thought of yet.

if you look at it from a different point of view it's called unity. i'm not condoning racism, i think it's wrong. but people like to belong whether it's a nationality or race, we all want to feel like we're part of something. when we start to think "my group is better than yours," that's where we go wrong. is it possible to be unified with a group or organization without disrespecting someone else's? probably not. sad...

racism and other stupidities are indicators of the consciousness level of those who so believe. unfortunately, the human race being what it is, the disappearance of this phenomenon is not imminent for a fairly large segment, according to those concerned about it.

I believe that if there were only two people left on earth, they would find fault with one another. Where, on earth, when there are two tribes, colonies, colors, or any other form that makes two groups different, and are living together or amongst one another, do they treat each other as they wish to be treated, in heart, mind, and soul?
