My midwife recommended primose. It comes in a pill form as well. It's basically a supplement for women's menstrual health. I read up on it, when it was suggested to me.

The midwifery forums suggests that it may help ripen the cervix. It's considered safe to take after the first 8 months of pregnancy.

If your doctor is okay with you trying to induce labor at home, ask him if he would be willing to strip your membranes. It's a bit uncomfortable, but can get the show on the road. Worked for me. I went into labor two days after my membranes had been stripped.

I've not heard of that. But please, don't do CASTOR OIL!!!!! You'll have awful diarrhea, and it won't start labor.

The best way to help out is with lots of sex and nipple stimulation. However, if your body isn't ready, there is nothing you can do to make it start. Even Pitocin doesn't work if your body isn't ready.
