With the Iraqi court trying &upholding Saddam's sentence & having it carried out in accordance with Iraqi law, has given the Iraqi people a chance to demonstrate to the world that as a soverign nation of laws, even the most evil of men will be treated justly...*and only after a trial & judgement are passed will any punishment be inflicted upon any individual. This goes a long way in helping to the heal the wounds of the Iraqi ppl b/c Saddam tortured ppl for fun, & executions were more a sporting event as opposed to being the highest penalty reserved for the worst of the worst. It's my hope that this is the first step on Iraq's journey to establishing their place in the world.

I don't think it was the right time for him to have been executed. Yes, he did need to die for what he did, but the Iraqis that did it, didn't think about the reprocutions that might happen. Hanging him on one of their holidays? Some are really mad about that, but some are glad about it too. But you can never win. I'm just worried that there will be a backlash, and they will say that the USA hung him, and we didn't.

American judiciary system is the best! Arab laws are babaric and murderous! Saddam used them to execute a lot of people, and it killed him without mercy or reason. What -- now have we gained except evil-heartless consciences --- just taking away a useless and de-throwned person's life without any gain from it.... what does it help. Life imprisonment was better. Only death sentence for people who have the potential to break away and repeat the same crime of murder or rape.

The vast majority of people on this forum are United Statesians. You will get the United Statesian's point of view not that of Americans. There are 900 million of those only 300 million are United Statesians. Mexicans and Brazilians alone make for another 300 million Americans.

This American is glad to see that the Iraqi legal system works much faster than our own.
I wonder if we could learn something here?

He was a horrible human being and deserved to die. I just wish it were done on the street the way he killed thousands and then there would be less questions about American Involvment.

I am happy that the Iraqis were able to try and convict their evil dictator. Hanging is what he was sentenced to and its fine with me. Even civilized countries used hanging within the last 100 years. So be it.

I think I can't wait to see the video on youtube, I hope he wet his pants and was crying like a baby on his way to the gallows.
Sadly he got off easy, he use to murder people by having them thrown into giant shredders, he would make the people's families watch. How sick is that.

there are mixed feelings and opinions.....
i am not opposed to having him pay for the atrocities he has committed.... i just question the timing, the motive, and the backlash against Americans because of it during this time!!!!!!!!
