How can I transport my Xbox 360 hard drive without breaking it?

I have the Microsoft licensed Madcatz Xbox 360 transport bag, which is amazing, but I cannot fit the 360 in the space for it while the hard drive is attatched. I don't want to leave it floating in the bag because of the connector (which is stupily designed to stick out of the slim hard drive about 1 inch, leaving it very easy to break). Are there any methods you know of or have devised?

If you kept the box that it came in with all of it's styrofoam I'd say use that.
