If I were President.......I would begin serious talks with all the counties in the middle east. I would enlist the best minds in the world on the mid-east to provide input on how to proceed.
I would make sure that the United Nations begin taking an active part in these negotiations. And these would not be once or twice a year but once a month at the very least. I would insist that progress of some sort be made before each talk is over.
I would work hard to repair the damage that has been done with the governments that were our former allies alienated because we did not include them in decisions made. Ask for their suggestions and help in working towards a mid-east solution.
All suggestions and help must be in the context of resolving the mid-east problems unilaterally with no faction having the better of it.
You may have noticed it took a majority change in congress to get our President to do any of this and only, in my view point, a token effort.
When we had no real plan going in and even less of one after what President Bush considered "mission accomplished" all of what need be done will take time and much effort. But better the fight be done across the table than people dieing because we don't talk.
We are entering an age where armies standing toe to toe and slugging it out will never ever resolve anything. In fact we have been there sense Viet Nam.
We must adjust our thinking and come to understand that talking to our enemy as well as our friends is the only way we will ever have any hope of piece. EVER.

Well for starters, it would obvioulsy not be even close to the one Bush has, and second of all, i would have none for Iraq, we have no business there, I would focus more on my own country here at home then go around the world destroying Iraq for the sake of Israel , and spend all that money that went to waste in Iraq , here for our railroads, roads, highway expansions, and health care and I would have saved all those hundreds of troops that were lost for no cause, for a real threat like North Korea or Iran, interesting how Bush used this , "Iraq is housing nuclear weapons", as his philosphy to invade Iraq, when we got there, their was nothing, but look at North Korea, there actually showing us their weapons of mass destruction and we do nothing against them... I wonder why.

Well seeing as how I am running for Pres of the internet 2008 I guess I should have one...
My policy in Iraq would be to educate thouse that want education. My goal would be to use all thouse resorces we have spent on building school and getting the Iraq people educated about anything and everything they can be educated or want to be educated on. My goal would be to make Iraq a country full of FREE thinkers. Of course by doing this I may make things worse for the US overall I think its worth the risk because if they become free thinkers as best as they can be and decide what they want then stay or leave it will be there choice not ours. How would I educate them is a hard question... Because I would want to bring in teachers from all around the world to give a very wide view of the world and such. But I must be very careful not to force education on anyone. IT would be a harder task then fighting a war itself and I would probably fail at it but I think people would learn from my failer... Vote for prez of internet 2008 ppl...

First of all I would never invaded Iraq. NEVER EVER!!!!
The 9/11 was possible because of bad HLS system. They just missed the terrorists. The war in Iraq does not lower the chances for America of being attacked by terrorists.
There was no WMD in Iraq.
Iraq did not pose any threat to the USA.
The war in Iraq is just loss of time, human lives and money
And the last. The war in Iraq has multiplied the sorrow, hatred and deaths in the world. The peace in the world is more fragile now

If I were president, the US would never have been in Iraq in the first place. The issue was best dealt with through the United Nations, not the unilateral action of a single nation.

If I was president I would not have invaded Iraq based on one piece of intelligence from a single source that the CIA told me was so unreliable that they nicknamed him "screwball"
If I was president, I would not then, take that evidence and tell the one ethical person in my administration to take it to the U.N. and fabricate a big story complete with fictional slide shows about mobile weapons labs and claim we have to invade Iraq ASAP.
If I was president, I wouldn't surround myself with draft-dodging evil liars with their own secret agendas and then rely on them for advice on foreign policy.
But thats me.

I would give the generals what they need to finish the job. I would tell the liberals to shut-up, the trained professionals are doing their job and it will be finished when the job is done. I would then tell the troops that their country is behind them supporting what they are doing, and are forever in their debt for their service. Then I would let it be known to the liberal media that they are on notice, the next time they collaborate with the enemy, they will be brought up on charges of TREASON!
