And how does killing Saddam change that?

Our military won the damn war. But the politicians are losing the peace.
All we needed straight after shock and awe was a dusk till dawn curfew, a guard on all important assets (hospitals, power stations etc....), and a blanket ban on all privately held weapons. This is common military practice and has been for a few thousand years. This would have allowed us to set up an intrim regime, then install a west friendly administration.
But oh no, our dumbsh-it politicians forgot to plan what to do after we kicked Batth party as-s and took out Saddam.
Any way we should have attacked the real enemy IRAN.
Now they've cut our balls off and we have to watch that creep, so called President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad giving us the finger.
Bush what have you done.

One of the reasons is that we are fighting insurgents in Iraq and not an actual army. So, we don't really know whose good or bad. Then there is the conflict between the Sunnis and Shiites. They keep fighting among themselves. Killing Saddam probably won't change anything, considering he is the one that kept the peace. Granted he was a dictator, but he actually kept these two groups from fighting each other. This mess wasn't going on until we invaded Iraq. We should have stayed out of Iraq, and if the Iraqi people wanted to get rid of Saddam they should have done it, not us. Which is why we will probably continue to lose in Iraq. There is no stable force there.

We aren't.

We already won the war. We overthrew Saddam and conquered the country.

The question is why are we still sitting there in the middle of a civil war getting shot at and blown up while we fantasize that we are going to turn Iraq into a democracy with our magic wands and everyone is going to live happily ever after. All the flag waving country music montages in the world ain't gonna make that happen folks.

It's over. It has been for a while. Time to pack up our toys and go home.

The War is not lost but a revolution has been let loose in Iraq and it would seem it cannot be stopped. Saddam was already irrelevant to events in Iraq before he was executed. The perception of the Iraqi Government as a puppet government of the US administration has been cemented by the execution being done at this time.

If the whole world could just turn their backs for a second I'm sure the US could make Iraq disappear. It's hard to fight a war the humane way.

It's not a war, it's a liberation, just ask Mr. Cheney. Killing Saddam will only cause more Iraqi people to kill each other, it's our governments secret plan.

You can't win a fight when you don't know who your opponent is or where they are. Anyone who thinks we are winning has their head up their butt. False misplaced bravado.

The "war" in iraq was ours to lose. Killing Sadam couldn't change a thing, except to maybey make it worse by racheting the psyopted sectarian violence to a new level.
Sad, but true.

We are NOT losing! I don't know where people get ideas about such things. SO do you think that after killing millions of people saddam deserved to live? I don't.

WE are not LOSING

We have spent a Trillion dollars and killed 650,000 men women and children. If that is not a victory then please explain what is

Do the math 1.53 million dollars per dead Iraqi. Now that is what Redsters call winning.

Go big Red Go

We are only losing until we decide that it's not worth it. Then we're gonna nuke the whole middle east. After we learn to drill oil in a nuclear wasteland.
