I was thinking me, and you to be my beautiful intelligent assistant.
together we can go to new planets and ... no wait, I forgot we just stay on earth now, special effects are cheaper that way.

No-one has been signed yet, but David Tennant is leaving halfway through the new series. The current front runner is Robert Carlyle.

Oh, and I agree with the generations thing. I think he is supposed to have 13 and Mr. Tennant is number 10. It will either be disregarded or some excuse will appear so they can carry on!

Tennant may change his mind -- it could all be up to negotiations when the time is closer.

I really liked Eccleston; wish he could come back.

As for the regenerations, he could have taken some from the other Time Lords before they died. I remember a show where The Master was after The Doctor's remaining lives.

I wish they would show some of the older episodes with Tom Baker, Peter Davison, & Colin Baker.

As far as anybody knows, David Tennant is NOT quitting the role. Neither has it been formally announced that he is leaving the role either on the BBC News' website, the official BBC Doctor Who website or Outpost Gallifrey.

While Stephen Fry might be a perfect Doctor, you have to remember that when the Doctor regenerates, he always goes into a body younger than the last. On a "technicality" he has no regenerations left, as he was only supposed to regenerate 13 times, so he only has three bodies left.

No one has an idea yet but Russle is deciding at the moment i want john simm from life on mars

by the way for the regeneration we (me and a fellow doctor who fan) have descussed this and and the main way of him regenerating morew than 13 times is to be blown into the heart of the tardis

or he can pass his title on to his son

William Shatner.

They wanted a short term contract, he wanted a lifetime contract, and they realized they were talking the same number of years.
