I need help choosing a new phone from Verizon. Can you tell me about RAZR v3m, LG VX8300, and LG VX8600?

Question

I'm using Verizon, and I'm up for a discount on a new phone. I just got the Samsung SCH-A870 and am not very happy with it.

1) Any recommendations for phones in general? I want to get a phone for free (yeah, I'm cheap), so I think the 2-year contract price has to be under $99.

2) Specifically, I'm looking at the RAZR v3m and LG VX8300. I'm also interested in the LG VX8600, though this will cost me $50 and it had better be excellent if I'm going to shell out any money. Can anyone tell me:
--Is there a hotkey that you can push to get into vibrate/silent? For example, on some phones, you can hold down #.
--When you go into silent mode, does the camera shutter still make a sound? Is there a way to turn the shutter off?
--Does the external display stay on a) when you're on the phone and b) when the phone is idle? If not, is it easy to turn the display back on?
--How is call quality?

Ok well my answer is the lg vx8600 it is literally the best fone by verizon. I just got it like 3 weeks ago. And it is REALLY good. it has the same features as the razr but more. Also it has a think sleek look and its not heavy. You can put the camer shutter on silent and the key tones and u can push # to put the fone on vibrate and all that stuff. Great picture quality and the reception is AMAZING. you sound perfect and clear to people and they sound perfect and clear to you. Have reception most places that the 8300 and the razr wouldnt. One thing that is bad that you have to be careful that you dont scratch it or drop it but you can always get a cover for it. it is a little pricey but definately worth it. when you talk on the fone you can choose if you want the light on or off and stuff like that. The battery life is AWESOME. you can use it for days without charging it. and i use my fone alot and i charge it once every few days. I researched this fone for 1 month before buying it and i love it so much. =]

I can only speak about the RAZR v3m not the others as that's the one I have. I purchased the RAZR because I thought it was a cool phone with awesome features I like it's slim & it's slim compact is cool. I can't stand the phone because I can't hear at all unless I cock my head a certian way. Might I add you must be a contortionist to hear well. I complained to the company so they gave me another one but it's the same thing. If I had to do it over again I'd get a Samsung or another type phone b/c I think the RAZRs are crap. They're cool looking but crap. I don't know if the free ones are different from the ones that costs $300 bucks but my daughter paid $300 bucks & she says she doesn't have any problems but then again she's a teen & I figure as long as she has a cell phone attached to her ear she's happy. I have heard the LGs are good phones although I've never used one. Good Luck.

I can only speak from experience. Verizon dish out crappy *** phones! So hears the deal! I had a motorola phone that gave me problems the first day! i went through ten phones and I was not satisfied until i got an LG phone! it works great. Haven't had any problems nothing! So whatever you do go with an lg!

I KNO ONE THING.......DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT GET AN LG!!!!! LG'z are crap phones!!!! i could tell you storie about LG's but that would take years lol! i had and lg phone and it snapped in half...and itz from verizon! my sister had an LG phone too...snapped in half!!!! from verizon......my cuzzo'z friend had an LG phone, broke!!! from verizon!!!!, and my friend had an LG from cingular, got messed up!!!! like i said, i could go on, lol so in other words....i think itz best to get the razor!!! good luck with the pick!!!
