I am doing interviews next month for my new company, anyone who would like to share any insight is greatly appreciated.

What questions do you use that give you the most insight into who the person across from you really is, or tells you the most about the way they would work in your company?

Conducting interviews is fun...I think you'll have a good time doing it.

When I'm interviewing people, my two favorite questions are as follows:

"I've got a copy of your resume and cover letter in front of me. Tell me something about yourself that I won't get from these two items."

I ask this question because I like to guage how quickly they can think on their feet, and it gives them an opportunity to talk about themselves as a person, and not just a job history.

"What attracted you to apply for this position?"

I ask this question because you get a feel for the person and if they are applying for the position because they want to, or because they have to...

Good luck. Conducting interviews is fun.

Tell me about yourself?
It will allow you to learn a little about the persons values. Then you might be able to see if they match up with your companies culture.

I also enjoy a very simple question, but it can answer a lot.
What are your weaknesses? If the person is able to turn their weekness into a positive, that is usually a good thing.

Good Luck!

I ask the person what they think their references said about them. It's really revealing of 1) if a person is perceptive of how other's see them. 2) is aware of strengths/weaknesses, and 3) confidence, with the way the answer is given

Describe for me what you are expecting to do at this position specifically what you see your role will be for the company.

How has your previous experience prepared you for this position? I was looking for both paid and volunteer experience.

Here's two..

"Tell me about a time when a boss didn't treat you fairly."
"Tell me about a time when you went out of your way to help a customer or coworker."

They ALWAYS... ALWAYS ask "What is your biggest weakness?" I suggest you prepare for that question.
