I mean if you look at the way science has been going and the way religion/spirituality has been moving they are seperate but moving twoards the same goal. Does it require a good background in science and religion/spiritualtiy to be a philospher thats not just rambling about jibberish?

Absolutely not! Philosophy and religion are not based on fact but on belief and opinion. Science is based on fact and evidence. They appear to be moving towards the same goal as you suggest, but that's only because Educated Guesses are based on certain assumptions that may not be incorrect. However, a couple things to point out. One science hasn't proved every aspect of religion. In fact when science disproves religion, Churches have gotten very good at saying they were speaking figuratively. Philosophy will admit all of its theories are just that, theories, and has no problem admitting being wrong.

When all is said and done, Religion will have to admit that god him/herself will have just been figurative speak for "The Cause". If that happens then yes they can merge, if not then no.

I asked myself this question about 15 years ago, taking in also extraterrestrials, prophecy (a "branch" of religion) and meditation along with Science and religion/spirituality.

Keep on asking the question, but only to yourself. The answer will come to you from inside, you will know that; what you get from outside, where you look, will only serve as the key to knowing that grand unified theory of everythought ITSELF.When that will happen is entirely up to you. And I don"t mean start searching hecticly right away in the bookstores or joining churches or running to masters. Keep the question in sight, and the answer will come of itself.

Even the most ignorant person can feel the spirit of God within their heart. All knowledge of all things are contained within our hearts, as the oak thee is contained within the acorn. Once we awake to our unity with God within our hearts we have more direct access to it. Yes science, and spiritual awarness will merge into something like metaphysics or I hear now quatum physics?

i doubt it both of topics have unresolved conflicts and unswerable questions, belief people think is the only answer for religon, and deep thought for philosophy
